Our families both lived in the Hamilton Mill subdivision but we unfortunately didn't meet until our freshman year at Dacula High School. As a tight-knit crew of 5 girls - "The Twins" - spent practically every day hanging out together. As Caro and I "grew up" and the miles between us increased our friendship has only grown stronger. Visiting me in Athens for football games & NYC for her first dance concert, SHM's last show. Finally back in the ATL from Birmingham, AL - like her mom, I am most excited that I can see her as much as I want when I travel home!
Amanda & I met the summer after my first year of law school clerking for Judge Olivieri in Jersey City. From the moment that we met I knew she was going to be more than the BOSSLADY. She was like a one person welcoming committee with her friendly smile, contagious laugh and bubbly personality. Not only did Amanda show my fellow Georgia transplant & I the true ways of "The Jersey Shore" (sirens, napkins & all), but she invited me (unknowingly) on the first date with her now fiance - someone had to be the chaperone! Now we are literal neighbors in NYC & I wouldn't be surprised if Justin & Frank eventually build a zip line to easily transport us to and from each other's apartment.New York, NY
Court & mines friendship began through our joint obsession of 2 things: Zeta Tau Alpha & Politics. We met our freshmen year at UGA and I decided instantly that despite our differing political views we were going to be friends. As Court's "token Dem friend" we both learned to hone our debate abilities in the 6 girl room at Zeta. Against our better judgment, we continued to live in the sorority house our junior - there is no way I could've made it through all that estrogen without her!
Momma Maggie has been looking out for me since the moment we met pledging Zeta Tau Alpha at the University of Georgia. Her sweet accent is only exceeded by her sweet personality. Between our countless Tar-jay runs and many long nights studying together - I have her to thank for all my stellar grades (& her husband has me to thank for introducing her to Dirty Shirley's!).Atlanta, GA.
Christy & I went to Dacula High together but we have Momma Mindy and my love of B.Spears- inspired clothing to thank for our friendship! During my senior year of high school, Christy took me under her wing and showed the ropes in preparation of Rush Week. At UGA, she was the Big Sis that I always wanted! I'm so thankful to have such a fun loving & genuine person in my life. Atlanta, GA
From the moment I met this firecracker in Creswell Dorm at UGA, I knew she was the best kind of trouble. Whether it was pulling an all-nighter for exams, over the top birthday celebrations, or being my partner-in-crime in our Framily - Oline was always there to pick me up or encourage my shenanigans! Living together we were a force to be reckoned with & almost too much for Jaime & Marie. Casa 1940 for life!Atlanta, GA
Almost as soon as we pledged ZTA freshman year, Kthor & I became fast friends. Acting more like sisters than friends we've been known to butt heads but early on in our friendship we knew that no matter what we will always be there for each other - whether its for a sassy comments to lighten the mood or a shoulder to lean on.Commerce, GA
Dr. Marie and I met through mutual college friends but our friendship has only blossomed since then. Whether it's sharing my love of the Spanish "culture", shakin' that thang, screaming our heads off at football games, or being my go-to for outdoors adventures, her dynamic personality is hard to sum up in a few short sentences. She has been an unwavering sense of strength for me throughout our young adult lives and her love of family and volunteering continues to inspire me to put some good back into the world.
James came along a little later at UGA, but was an irreplaceable addition! We spent countless nights studying together or irrupting into random dance parties in Casa 1940! Our tattoo collecting, football crazy, and hippie loving souls make us a force to be reckoned with when we're together. We have celebrated too many Georgia football games together to count, revelled in FINALLY graduating college, taken over the streets of NYC together, and danced the night away at her wedding together!Charleston, SC
Luke is my big bro, and someone I've always looked up to. Growing up together he is the one who would lead Robert and I into our greatest adventures: fort building, bushwhacking, paintballing, catapult construction......all the skills a growing boy needs. He's now father to my awesome nephew Henry and husband to my lovely sister-in-law Angela. Every year that goes by he shows me how great a man he is, and sets a high standard to live up to. I'm so proud to have him there by my side on this special day.
Rob is not only my younger brother, he's my partner in crime. Layla points out often that we're pretty much the same person, except I'm significantly better looking. We got into plenty of trouble together in high school, both went to school in Southern California, he crashed on my couch when I first moved to New York, and we've traveled the world. Layla and I are looking forward to him being being our partner in crime.
I got to know Jake when we both moved to New York to work at Bloomberg. I don't think the transition to the city would have been possible (and definitely not as fun) without him. Besides our 49ers Seahawks rivalry, there's so much I respect about this guy. He may be making the longest trek out from Hong Kong to be at this wedding, and it just wouldn't be the same without him.
Brandon and I have been friends for the past 24 years since we met in Kindergarten at St. Michael's Elementary. When they say you lose track of your first friends, that doesn't apply to Brandon. He's the guy who will always be there when you need him. I had the honor of being in his wedding last year as he married Sarah, and it's equally an honor to have him in mine.
David and I have known each other since preschool, and been buds since. That's a strong 25 years of friendship. Whether it be skiing, lake days, weekend trips, track/cross country, or Swiss festivals, you'd usually find David and I hanging out together. Got to have my oldest friend there when I get married.
Colin and I started working at Bloomberg together around the same time. For some reason we were hanging out through mutual friends and he says to me "I hear you like outdoorsy things. We should be friends." And that was that. We've had a lot of great trips since then, and there's no better dude to look after you on an adventure. He'll be joining us from London, and I'm honored to have him as a friend.
Chris and I got to know each other through common friends in the city, and pretty quickly became roommates. When we moved into our new place the plan was to be the ultimate bachelor's pad. Within a month I'd met Layla, and that plan was out the window. He's had front row seats to our entire relationship; even helping arrange my proposal on his roof. Always a reliable friend, it means a lot to have him as a groomsman. Also, he's polite.
Tom and I worked together at Bloomberg for 5 years and became fast friends. He's our default DJ for all events, and one of the few people how can contend with me in board games. He too has known Layla and I together our entire relationship, so he knows full well how fun this wedding is going to be.
Craig and I have been buddies since I moved to New York. He's my go-to for advice on picking things up and putting them down, as well as all Ron Swanson quotes. (Two invaluable resources). He now resides in Chicago, but I know if I called him up for a hiking or skiing trip he'd always be on board. He also can grow the most impressive mustache you will ever see.
